Our Team

The PretermConnect team consists of a small group of researchers led by Dr. C. Jason Wang, MD, PhD from the Center for Policy, Outcomes and Prevention at Stanford University. The app was developed as part of ongoing research to better understand the risk factors for preterm birth and the potential for mobile health to improve health outcomes. By providing a mobile resource, we hope to: (1) increase parents’ engagement with their baby’s care and their own health and (2) provide information that allow people to feel more comfortable making decisions for their overall wellbeing.

Collaborators and Contributors

The PretermConnect project is funded by the Richard King Mellon Foundation. Within Allegheny County, we also collaborate with community organizations and nonprofits with similar goals. Our academic collaborators include health professionals from Stanford University, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Harvard University, and Boston University.

The app has also been designed based on feedback from community organizations and co-design/focus group sessions with mothers of preterm infants.
